[EN] BLAST is a form, a language, a radical exhibition that exploits the conventions and schemes inherited from the imposed 'normality', developing a discourse that deconstructs the patriarchal binary myths of the “West”, the codes that format social and artistic genres.
BLAST’s approach attempts to transform war and displacement PTSD into dance, turning the sounds of combat into frenetic rhythms, converting the corporal and sound memory of conflict into a dance, transforming victimisation into a space of empowerment and vindication.
The electronics of Mad Monkey and the voice / performance of Queer Falafel merge in their own style, armed with industrial, dark, violent and danceable, sensual, and poetic sounds.
Textures and polyrhythms play a main role in their compositions, the broken cadences, the superposition of measures.
BLAST's sound defies genres, it is free, daring, without complexes.

IMPERIÁLIKA إمبرياليكا is the first single of the album. It is loosely inspired by EBM and it is the only track in this work that is in the imperial English language.
This track talks about how colonizers romanticize the idea of the SWANA (South-West Asia North-Africa) region, by exoticing and fetishizing hairy bodies. The song confronts the hairless white man who perceives hairy, darker bodies as barbaric and inferior while at the same time desiring them.
Smoothing out his wonky instrumental style, these beefy beats are tastefully paired with twisted jazz n'soul samples. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 9, 2014
Elaquent’s music recalls Oddisee’s instrumental work and Flying Lotus’ Cali-infused electronica. On “Worst Case Scenario,” the composer emotes a pastoral essence. Bandcamp Album of the Day Dec 16, 2016
